Jefferson Memorial
Contributed by Robert Klimkiewicz Jr in Monuments and Statues on June 19, 2009
Back in March during a Cherry Blossom photowalk, I went around the back of the Jefferson Memorial and got this shot with my Tokina 12-24 (as wide as it would go!). Using Topaz Adjust plugin in PS Elements really brought out the detail in the marble. It was around 7am at that point so the sun was just coming up, causing the warm glow at the back of the columns.

Wow! – there is so much that is great about this shot, including the angle and the colors. What I like best is that you managed to bring out the detail of the marble without detracting from the powerful simplicity of the image.

I have said this before, but I love the texture in this image. It’s fantastic.
