The statue, part of the 1st Division Monument, is located behind the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, was designed by Daniel Chester French. The statue is made of bronze and plated in gold. It sits atop a 65-foot column of pink Massachusetts granite — one of the largest pieces ever quarried in the United States.

Love the gold tones against the deep blue! Wonderful detail in the statue.
Amazing colors and great composition! The photo really reflects the meaning of the statue.
