The latest, and perhaps final, monument on the National Mall. The brilliant sculpture of Martin Luther King, Jr. as the great American and Civil Rights leader looks across the Tidal Basin facing the Jefferson Memorial. Despite the controversy surrounding the Production materials and the nationality of the sculpture the monument stands tall as a testament to the greatest of the man and more importantly his ideas.

Forgive me for using editor’s privilege to brag but my son’s hockey team, the Marshall/South Lakes High School Ice Hockey Club, won the Northern Virginia Junior Varsity Hockey Tournament this weekend. I’ve never seen 18 young men with bigger smiles on their faces.
