Anne Brink

flickr.com/photos/annebphoto/ I’ve enjoyed playing with cameras since I was in grade school, but have only been shooting more seriously in the past 5, 6 years. Currently I am working part time as a photographer, the other part time as a parent and sub in Fairfax County schools. My preference is for documentary work, whether it’s photojournalism or just going out and seeing what’s there to find and capture. I also enjoy the occasional foray into sports, landscapes, and to some extent, architecture. My primary work at the moment is in community photojournalism; I freelance for a south FX Co weekly, “The Mount Vernon Voice” with one or two assignments per week on average- not a lot, but practice and access.

George Fletcher
George got his love for photography using his Dad’s Leica Rangefinder in middle school. He’s always enjoyed taking pictures but it wasn’t until the switch to digital in 2001 that it became more serious. Becoming active on flickr has added a new dimension to his work. Photography is an escape from the pressures and craziness of his day job as a Software Architect in the IT industry. George moved to the DC area almost 20yrs ago and now lives with his family in the western part of Loudoun county Virginia.

Neal Jacob
flickr.nealjacob.com
Neal’s interest in photography started with his Fisher-Price 110 camera. His father let him use his old 35mm, but its complexity scared him off and he went back to his Fisher-Price. Neal’s interest in photography really took off when he purchased his first digital camera in 2003 and his first digital SLR in 2005. Neal would be out shooting every day if he could, but as a husband and father of three, he has to spend some time with the family so they know he’s still alive.

Joshua Snow
Joshua recently moved to the DC area in pursuit of a law degree from George Washington University. Originally coming from Salt Lake City, Utah, Joshua spent most of his spare time hiking or fishing in the rocky mountains. Although he is still a relative amateur in the photography field, he is striving to improve his skill everyday.

Dawn Casey
www.caseymultimedia.com
Dawn became interested in the magic that is photography when she started modeling at age 8 for a half-crazy art major that was attending Berkeley. At the time, it was still film: colored gel filters on the lens, time exposures you’d have no idea about until a week later, and special effects photography. She learned a lot from that crazy art major, and never forgot numerous lessons learned including “don’t waste it- take it right because fixing it in post is for wimps.”a Umpteen years later Dawn became a professional videographer and editor but discovered her first love, the still camera, was still calling her. Heeding that call, she picked up a rather large pro model Canon, shot her very first picture (a duck… swimming… in a pond) and has been having the time of her life since. Dawn’s Mantra: I can still make a difference, I can still make meaningful anything that I want. I can touch every person inside, make a smile, make a difference to everyone that I ever meet, ever work with, or ever even think about.

Max Cook Photography
I am a photographer based in Washington DC, although I don’t tend to stay in one place for very long. Originally from Denver, I’ve also lived in Los Angeles, Seattle, and Philadelphia. I shoot primarily with a Canon 1D Mark III and have yet to venture into the world of film. I honestly think working in the digital world will never grow old for me. I mainly shoot street and nature photography but have a dream of working as a staff photographer for a major newspaper such as the Washington Post, the New York Times, or even better yet, as a White House photographer. Pete Souza, are you listening?
